Long before the internet, search engines, or even personal computers, Vannevar Bush was thinking about a world where knowledge could be connected, accessible, and personal. While most of his peers focused on the machines themselves, Bush was focused on how humans would navigate information, a question that defines our era today. Building a Map of Knowledge Bush imagined the “Memex,” a device that could store all of a person’s books, records, and communications, and allow them
